Flamingo House is located just uphill from Cruz Bay in St John USVI.
We’re a short walk downhill to town, where you’ll find restaurants, beach bars, shops, and ferry access. The walk back is uphill, so most guests opt for a quick taxi ride home after dinner.
Is Flamingo House within walking distance to Cruz Bay?
Yes, with a small caveat.
It’s an easy walk downhill into Cruz Bay. The return walk is uphill, which is very typical for St John, so plan accordingly. We often suggest a taxi for your first trip up with luggage and groceries.
How far is Flamingo House from the beaches?
Flamingo House is about a 7-minute drive to the North Shore beaches, including Trunk Bay, Hawksnest, and Maho Bay.
For guests who enjoy a bit of adventure, you can hike to Solomon Beach and Honeymoon Beach via nearby trails, making for a beautiful morning or afternoon outing.
If you’re looking for something closer, Frank Bay is a small, easy-to-access beach just minutes away and within walking distance. It’s a great spot for a quick swim or a sunset cocktail before heading into Cruz Bay.
We also provide beach chairs, towels, coolers, and snorkel sets (mask and snorkel) to make beach days easy.

In total, the property includes seven units and can accommodate up to 22 guests when booked together. It’s a great option for groups traveling together while still having their own space.
Is Flamingo House a hotel?
No, Flamingo House is not a traditional hotel.
We are a collection of individually designed vacation rental suites. There is no front desk, but we are hands-on hosts and available to help with recommendations, planning, and anything you may need during your stay.
Does Flamingo House have a pool?
Flamingo House does not have a pool, but you likely won’t miss it.
St John is known for its world-class beaches, all just a short drive away, and most guests spend their days exploring the North Shore.
If you’re in the mood for a pool day, there is a pool club offering day passes located just a short walk from Flamingo House, about halfway between the property and Cruz Bay. It’s an easy option if you want the best of both worlds.
Does Flamingo House have air conditioning?

All units at Flamingo House are equipped with air conditioning to keep you comfortable, especially during warmer months.
Is there parking available at Flamingo House?
Yes, off-street parking is available.
We have a limited number of parking spaces on-site. If you plan to rent a car, we recommend coordinating in advance so we can guide you on parking options.
Does Flamingo House have a generator?
Yes, and it powers the entire property.
In the event of a power outage, the generator keeps everything running, including air conditioning. This is a major plus on island and something guests truly appreciate.
Are beach essentials provided?

We provide beach chairs, towels, coolers, and snorkel sets (mask and snorkel) so you can easily enjoy the beaches without needing to rent equipment.

Upper-level studios like Coco, Isla, and Palm offer sunset views and shared deck space, making them especially great for couples traveling together who want to be near each other while still having their own private space.
One-bedroom units provide a bit more room and privacy, while the three-bedroom Tide unit is ideal for families or larger groups who want to stay together under one roof.
